A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday March 21st for Arcadia at Limerick Pointe – the newest retirement community in Montgomery County. Arcadia has the only true independent living community in Limerick that offers all the luxury of independent living and its many amenities, but in a monthly rental concept without large buy-in fees. A 50.1 million-dollar project, Arcadia will offer the full continuum of care with 160 independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments. With a rapidly growing early depositor waitlist, Arcadia is close to 200,000 sq. ft and will open in 2020.

In addition to the partners, developers and architects on the project, over 80 people braved the rain and muddy conditions to witness and be part of the occasion, including Greg Stevens, President & CEO of Vantage Point Retirement Living, Principles Mark Quigley and Trupert Ortlieb of Signature Realty Advisors, many Township Board of Supervisor Members including Elaine DeWan, Fire Marshall Mike Latshaw, and Father Brandt of St. Teresa of Calcutta along with many of Arcadia’s early depositors.

Beautiful and modern, Architectural firm Kimmel Bogrette designed Arcadia, with fourth generation family-run Paul Risk Construction helming the build.  “Working on a project of this magnitude takes an incredible amount of talent and discipline. You can see in the result of this effort an honoring of the community and region in the architecture.” Said Principal Architect Jim Bogrette.

“When folks decide to enjoy their life here at Arcadia, they’re going to experience a look and feel that is comforting, relaxed, and sophisticated without being pretentious.  Incorporating the locale into the building makes Arcadia feel familiar – like home – like Montgomery County, and like something you want to be a part of.”

Arcadia will have a unique affiliation with St. Teresa of Calcutta, delivering comprehensive faith-based programming within the retirement community – regardless of denomination – to satisfy our very human need to connect spiritually. Father Brandt delivered a touching speech, saying “the spiritual side of Arcadia at Limerick Pointe is an incredible service, and parishioners at St. Teresa of Calcutta for one are very excited about this project…

I can’t tell you how many times in the last three years I’ve been asked “when is it opening”? We believe this faith-based approach will give our broader community the ability to connect with and nurture their spirituality, regardless of which faith they are a part of – and that is something we in the faith-based community are incredibly proud of”.

Local representative from BB&T Bank, CRE Manager Matt Pulley, said “One word we keep hearing everybody talk about is “community” – which is great because part of our mission at BB&T is to make the communities we live and work in better places to be…

“I can’t tell you how fulfilling it is to feel part of this community, to see what this project means to Limerick, and to experience how the capital we provide translates into the sticks and bricks that become the homes that are filled with the people who grow and nurture the Limerick community”.

The community is much more than a rental community for seniors. In fact, it’s perfect for active seniors who want to spend more time enjoying their retirement and less time on household chores and maintenance.

“As a local family-run business, we’re proud to offer all the independent living services and amenities typically found in an entrance-fee community without the large upfront cost” says President Greg Stevens. “It’s been a long time coming and took a lot of hard work by many incredible folks, and that isn’t always evident to those who weren’t a part of it. I can tell you that in over 30 years of experience building senior living communities, Arcadia will truly be unlike any other”.

Arcadia will provide residents with country club-style amenities such as a full-service dining in a high-quality restaurant, casual bistro, pub lounge, and fitness programs. Other amenities will include a movie theater, full-service salon and spa, and outdoor terrace with water features and fire pits. Exceptional services will also be provided to residents of the community, including an in-house concierge, weekly housekeeping, security, transportation, daily activities, social programs, and more.

Board of Supervisors Member Elaine DeWan remarked that the Board “had been looking at this particular piece of property since 2005, and in exploring many different options…

“We felt like Arcadia was the best one as there is no other offering like this in the area – and because Arcadia is serving the seniors in our community, it is a very welcome one and we can’t wait for it to open.”

Arcadia at Limerick Pointe is being developed as a joint venture between Vantage Point Retirement Living, LLC of Exton, Pennsylvania and Signature Realty Advisors. Daily operations of Arcadia will be the responsibility of Vantage Point Retirement Living, a regional senior living development and management company which has been committed to providing seniors with best-in-class lifestyle communities in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland for over 20 years.
